Today is not April 1st. In fact, it is only 6 days until Christmas! So, I begin with a warm wish to each of you for a very warm and merry Christmas.
Christmas is a time of giving, celebrating, remembering, singing, and sharing. After all of the hugs, merriment, and mistletoe, we snuggle down to await the magic of the morning. Then, Christmas awakens and we are all children again.
Right around the corner is the New Year. New Year begins with New. I like to be punctual; even early sometimes. And this year especially, I am very glad to enter a New Year. So, I leap forward (is this a leap year??? – …Nope, I’m a year ahead; it will be in 2020). Oh well, I am leaping anyway.
What I am leaping to is the end-of-the-year flurry toward better health. For some reason – is it New Year’s resolutions??? Or too many sweets? – this is the time of year when people determine to create better habits, most commonly for their good health. Well, I am inaugurating the New Year with a Big Healthy Announcement!

Hi Nancy, Wow, good for you! Question: Does ionized water have fluoride in it? Or, does the machine take fluoride out of the tap water? My dentist has recommended not to use just bottled water (which I know your product isnt that) but to be sure to include tap water for the fluoride or to get a fluoride treatment. Thoughts?
I have also heard that this is an amazing product, especially for cancer patients. Any research on that?
Hi Gail. Thanks for your comment and questions. The water ionizer filters the water and uses a process of electrolysis that runs the water through a series of titanium plates dipped in platinum that separate the positive and negative ions. The result is ultra pure water that is 1) loaded with antioxidants; 2) more hydrating to the body; and 3) rich in minerals, like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Fluoride in drinking water is a highly controversial subject. Though very difficult to remove from water, water ionizers offer the best in both ionization and filtration. Since fluoride is acidic, some of it is removed in the ionization process. Filters are the second method.
A dentist I saw a few years ago gave me a prescription for a fluoride toothpaste. I filled it and used it, but after researching the subject at length, I discontinued use rather abruptly. Fluoride is poisonous, and even trace amounts are linked to brain and other neurologic disorders. As long as it isn’t swallowed, fluoride toothpaste is said to have fewer risks, but the benefit of fluoride for both teeth and bones has been largely debunked by research supported by the Journal of Dental Research, the U.S. National Research Council, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and others.
There is quite a bit of research showing the benefits of ionized water, which has persuaded me enough to buy one for myself and my son. In fact, water ionizers are used extensively in other countries, primarily Korea and Japan, as medical devices because of the extensive health benefits. Advocates claim that drinking alkaline water may help with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, weight control, and many other maladies, including cancer. The potent antioxidants fight against cell damaging free radicals in the body, increasing immunity and slowing the aging process.
The importance of water to our bodies and our health is worthy of great respect. The quality of water we drink has a direct effect on our health. Water is essential for our cell life, regulating our metabolic and chemical reactions, transporting nutrients, and flushing out toxins. There is quite a bit of research on the benefits of ionized water.
