Personally, my favorite product in our Sheeperfect^® line is our signature Sheeperfect^® Skin (especially the sheep).  But wait.  By request, we have added a new product.  This one was tricky and took some time to create.  But the wait is well worth it.  And now, waiting to try it is – well – that’s your skin’s loss.

I have been requested to make soap.  Previously, these requests went unheeded for several reasons. 

1. The focus of Sheeperfect^® has been about moisturizing, rather than cleansing.  (Cleansing is the #1 step in good skin care; moisturizing #2.  See our blog, The 3 Most Important Things for Skin, May 1, 2017.) 
2. Soap does not fit into the criteria for Sheeperfect^® products.  It requires the use of lye, which is highly toxic. 
3. Soap includes ingredients that do not meet the criteria for Sheeperfect^® products.  Preservatives and other ingredients are found in soap. 
4. Creating a lathery product requires ingredients that do not fit Sheeperfect^® criteria. 
5. Soap is highly alkaline, while skin is slightly acidic, so the pH balance in soap is disruptive.

The bottom line is this.  Soap isn’t a product I will support. 

…Which led me to question why I was still using it!

Further consideration – and the eventual elimination of the product I had faithfully used on my face for years – prompted me to reconsider all of the requests for soap.  A review of the amazing healthful and cleansing properties of the ingredients used in Sheeperfect^® products motivated me to devise a cleansing product that would meet my requirements.

Once again, my research enabled me to concoct a recipe that I have now been using – exclusively – on my face – and LOVING it!!!!!  Little did I know I was on the threshold of encountering a world better – and cleaner – and purer – than soap!

Pricing is an interesting study in psychology.  Today Sheeperfect^® pricing changes.  Introductory pricing was kept intentionally low.  I have learned a lot about myself – and gained new insight about why my professional career ended up in the nonprofit world.  Here are a few true confessions.

Confession #1:     I don’t like to pay exorbitant prices for anything!

Confession #2:     I am finding I don’t like to charge for Sheeperfect^® products; I would rather make them as accessible as possible.

Sheeperfect^® was created to share an amazing line of products you can’t find anywhere else, that are healthy, natural, with 100% pure ingredients.  As a result, they are more expensive to make.  In fact, they may take some getting used to because they are so highly concentrated!  However, …

Confession #3:     I want people to use Sheeperfect^® products who may not be persuaded by large price tags, but want the best.  Exceptional quality at a reasonable price – speaks to me.

Confession #4:     I love my customers – and respect them.  In fact, a part of me would prefer to give all of my products to everyone as gifts!

For these reasons, I have decided to extend my introductory prices to my preferred customers – everyone who has given me their trust and confidence in my first 6 months of business – for the rest of the year.  Being able to share the healthy contributions this product line affords is worth more to me than profit.

Today – 7/17/17 – marks the 6-month anniversary of Sheeperfect^®!  So, what’s so good about it?  Well, here are a few answers for 6 months of contemplation.

1.  Personal Care.  Matters.   We women tend to take care of others.  Our kids.  Our friends.  Our spouses.  The general public.  Hmm, where do we fit on the list?  Sometimes, we end up way down at the bottom.  Sometimes, we don’t even make it on the list at all.  But taking care of ourselves is incredibly important.  The Second Great Commandment – Love your neighbor as yourself – often gets truncated.  We forget the as yourself part!  But the truth is, like the mantra on airplanes about putting your own oxygen mask on before helping others, loving has to begin at home.  That means, ultimately, it has to start with you.  And that means, ultimately, it has to start with you loving you! 

As in … Sheeperfect^®.  Yes, you are!!!  And taking care of that perfect you matters.

2.  All Natural.  Many people are choosing to go natural.  There are lots of great – and important! – reasons to make this switch.  The healthiest way to shop in a grocery store is to only cruise the perimeter.  Everything fresh is located around the perimeter.  The entire rest of the store is packed with processed items.  More and more, what we put in and on and around our bodies is more and more processed.  It is easier, lasts longer, and disposable.  But … not necessarily healthy!  Read the labels.  Processed items are loaded with chemicals, preservatives, fillers, and a lot of ingredients you can’t pronounce and don’t have a clue what they are. 

Everything in every Sheeperfect^® product is all natural and super good for your skin!  No exceptions!  It is one of my absolute requirements.

3.  Nourishing.  What you put on your body is as important as what you put in your body.  Your skin, being the largest organ in your body, is worthy of your care.  Caring for your body with good food contributes greatly to your good health; so does caring for your skin.

I have come to realize that Freedom is one of my five top values (Hint:  all 5 begin with an F!).  This year, this value takes on a new significance for me.  As we near the celebration of our country’s independence, I am nearing a mere half year with Sheeperfect ^®.

Some (silly) people think that Sheeperfect ^® is only for girls!  […Snicker…]  Well, move over, girls, the Misters are coming!

I am so excited about this new addition to our Sheeperfect ^® line!  These Misters come in handy, and can really add a little splash of zest to your life!  Yes, the “guys” have it.  OK, I’m really talking about the Misters.  The little ones are actually just called sprays (except in the Skin for Men Spa Collection, where they will always be called Misters).  Meet Sheeperfect ^® Air.

These little misters are loaded with fresh, purifying, cleansing essential oils to brighten and lift your spirit anytime, anywhere, any way you want to use them.  Spritz them in the air.  Spray them on your face or arms or legs or feet or … you get the idea … for a burst of freshness.  I’m so excited about these … oh, I said that already!  But they are especially exciting to me because I had to figure out how I could add them to my line.  The challenge:  they had to meet my criteria for all of my products:

Most fine mist sprays use a water base.  Hmm, where have we heard this before??!?!?!!  And did you see that last item in my criteria list?  Yup.  No.  Water!

In this case, an oil base wasn’t the answer.  (Yes, I tried it.)  We all know, oil and water don’t mix.  So, essential oils, being, yes, oils, don’t really like being stuck in water.  So what do I do???

Research.

Research.

Finally – voila! – [drum roll, please] … Sheeperfection!!!!  True confession:  It was me (as in She); not him (as in Mister).  Yes, I found it!  The answer?  Ta da!  Witch hazel.  Note to self:  Add to ingredients list.  Witch hazel is a fantastic astringent used medicinally for all kinds of healing – especially when it comes to your skin.  As with essential oils, witch hazel is extracted from a plant.  It makes a wonderful carrier oil for essential oils and adds its own healthful characteristics.

Our birthday suit is what houses everything else that lies within.  Like a “coat of armor,” we want our skin to provide the protection, and be the conduit for nourishment and enjoyment throughout our years.  So, what matters for our skin?

People spend lots of money on all kinds of products that promise miraculous and amazing results.  And there are lots of options too.  You can personalize your purchase to your particular skin type, color, tone, pore size, age, and more.  However, all skin needs only three primary components for good care.

I just returned from visiting my 10-month old grandson in LA.  (There is nothing better!)  During my visit, we noticed a few issues with his skin.  Sheeperfect^® came to the rescue!

First, the creases in Blaise’s legs were getting red from where the diapers rubbed, especially on one side.  I applied Sheeperfect^® Skin and the problem disappeared within the first day!

Second, Blaise developed a cold – (so difficult to not be able to take it away!).  He didn’t appreciate my frequent attempts to wipe his nose with a soft moist cleaning cloth.  But on every occasion, he patiently welcomed me applying the Sheeperfect^® Skin under his nose.  The Skin product provided soothing relief and the peppermint essential oil, especially, helped him breathe easier.

Third, Tiffany showed me some hidden creases under Blaise’s arms that were red and smelled funny.  This area was a bit more tricky.  She had tried using calendula, but the problem persisted.   One application of Sheeperfect^® Skin didn’t bring about the miraculous results we earlier experienced in the groin area.  It took Sheeperfect^® Underarms to clear up this one.  Arrowroot powder, used in South America as baby powder, and the thyme, frankincense, and clove essential oils went to work with their numerous healing properties.   Within a few days, the problem went away.
