After working for one of the top wineries in Washington State for a few years, and then venturing into high end chocolate, I am now focusing on just being perfect (Sheeperfect®, that is). Years ago, when the pinnacle job of my career ended abruptly, I knew that I needed to answer one question. I realized it was a question I needed to ask, and answer, for the rest of my life. That question tortured and taunted me for some time. Exasperated and at a loss, I was only able to begin by reshaping the question … or, er, the answer.
What, pray tell, is the question????
The question is: What is it you want?
While this may seem like a very simple question, I could not answer it. I had no idea! All I could say (at least this part was very clear!) was what I did not want. I did NOT want to stay in my career track. … But what did I want?
No idea.
Eventually, I teased out that I wanted to work in a wine tasting room and learn more about fine wine. So, I got my foot in the door and then surveyed all the wineries, choosing the best one and going there. I loved it.
What goes with fine wine? Yes, fine chocolate! So, that was my next adventure. Loved that too!
In the meantime, Sheeperfect® came along. It has perhaps been the grandest adventure yet!
With several years of practice under my belt, I now find myself adept at being able to think through and define what I want. In fact, I have caught myself using those 2 words without even noticing. With this one question, and a little bit of faith, I am livin’ the life! The Bible says, nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). By answering this one question, I can begin to visualize what I may have thought otherwise impossible – and see it materialize before my very eyes. You can too! Even if the beginning starts only with knowing what it is you don’t want. Life is precious and worthy of shaping it into what you do want. And then, livin’ the life. Cheers!
Oh, and speaking of livin’ the life, please come to my home on Saturday, August 18th, to get pampered.
