Q&A

What is the most important thing for clean skin? Moisturizer
What are the benefits of using a moisturizer? Moist skin prevents cracking and provides armor-like protection for the body against germs and bacteria.  Keeping this largest organ of the body hydrated enhances elasticity and contributes to younger-looking skin.
What is one of the most waterproofing and moisturizing barriers in nature? Lanolin.  This secretion from the sebaceous glands of sheep is a fantastic deep-penetrating emollient moisturizer for skin, nails and hair. It prevents water loss and acts like a lubricant, both retaining natural moisture and sealing it in through a moisture barrier.
Is there any harm to sheep to harvest the lanolin? No.  Lanolin is extracted from sheep’s wool after it is sheared.

Sheeperfect® does not test on animals.

Why are emollients beneficial? Emollients moisturize skin directly, softening and sealing in moisture.  They create an occlusive, protective surface barrier.
What are some natural emollients? Shea butter ▪ Cocoa butter ▪ Lanolin ▪ Beeswax ▪ Coconut, almond, and other plant oils ▪ Olive oil
What is the difference between emollients and humectants? Humectants draw water to the skin from the air and external environment.  Emollients work with the skin, lubricating and absorbing into the skin, sealing in moisture.
