Sheep products are superior.
Many skin products (after water) begin with a milk base. There are some wonderful products that use goat milk, which has richer composition than cow milk. But sheep milk is superior.
Sheep milk has:
- More butterfat, proteins, vitamins A, B, and E and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium than cow or goat.
- Loads of moisturizing natural fats and alpha-hydroxy acids.
- Natural, gentle, exfoliant qualities in the lactic acid that leave skin glowing and soft.
- Highest concentration of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) known to have cancer fighting properties.
- All 10 of the essential amino acids, riboflavin, and folic acid.
Lanolin. Sheep provide a wonderful resource for many good things. The natural oil found in sheep’s wool, lanolin, offers impressive soothing, moisturizing, and healing benefits. Lanolin is a super-rich emollient. For skin, lanolin is such a special natural organic material that it is the recommended product for nursing mothers. It locks existing moisture into the skin and absorbs additional moisture from the air around it. Once penetrating the skin, it holds up to 400 times its weight in water, super-moisturizing from both within and without. Through my research, it became apparent that using lanolin was even preferable to sheep milk.
